Donating organs

My mother has requested that when she dies that she wants to donate her organs to medical science. I am very against this and do not want her body to be donated. Even though she has expressed these wishes in her Will, can I refuse to allow this to happen?

Your mother cannot legally give directions as to the disposal of her body. Possession of her body after death passes to the Executors if there is a valid Will but otherwise to the next of kin. Your authority as Executor can override the wishes of your mother but clearly this is a sensitive matter and I would not recommend this unless there are very good reasons for doing so.
